Well he's on the background and his face spins to the next tree. When enemies are nearby he gets to attack with apples or whatever he spits
Ocassionally drops a apple that restores part of your health

Also, @Malti Blowfish? Porcupuffer? Boss Bass/Big Bertha were the big fish in Mario 3; however, Porcupuffer did get those menacing traits in Mario Maker 2.
