[The sword in the stone]

I still cannot fathom why someone would just chisel around the sword to set it free!

Well I suppose the stone is magical too(?) you would need a maaagical chisel at that point or like the "chosen one chisel bearer who could break the stone", i mean that would make it for a stupid but interesting concept XD
anyway i think that in medieval times the authors just didn't think about it that much.
