Also, weird question, how does Corel Painter treat you? This is one of the more obscure programs artists use nowadays, and I’m curious of its quality.

It's weird to me that there's so many options for software now. I've been using Painter for 15 years now and have a certain amount of loyalty to Corel after winning a worldwide contest for anniversary in 2010. At the end of the day it has always been a thriftier alternative to Photoshop, but can still be pricey, which is why I only upgrade every four years or so. I use it for 90% of a painting and then switch to Photoshop to finish up, because post processing can be clunky in Painter.
