So her core is pink while her protective outer layer is brown. If that’s the case, this is ironically one of her more exposed forms!

Pretty much lol, although, her slime form is essentially invulnerable to physical strikes, so it's about the same as armor. She can still form pink colored membranes, but in this case, it's slime. That way, if something slashes at her, it won't be leaving an obvious tear in her membrane that gives away her transformation. Appearances are more important than functionality. (Her shield is hard though.)
