Quite an odd power-up. I wish it did the Yoshi’s Island thing where it pushes enemies away when it pops rather than killing them in one hit.

It's a Wisp, from Sonic, but it IS named after the character! You can see he has little tear marks too =D <3

Indeed! I haven't played the recent one at all, but I have good memories of the more evolution-focused gameplay (well, except for the extremely pushed basics such as Scyther and Electabuzz).
